## How they compare

StreamLake's main draw is KAT-Coder-Pro V2.5, a proprietary agentic coding model from Kuaishou's KwaiKAT team. StreamLake says large-scale agentic reinforcement learning trained it to read an issue, change multiple files, run tests and fix its own errors over long runs. Developers pay per token or buy a KwaiKAT Coding Plan, with OpenAI-protocol endpoints plus a Claude-protocol proxy for Claude Code or OpenClaw. Crusoe offers no proprietary model. Its serverless catalog covers open weights like DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi, gpt-oss and Nemotron from $0.05 in and $0.20 out per million, with a cluster-wide KV cache that Crusoe says accelerates the long repeated context coding agents send.

Procurement will decide it for many buyers. StreamLake's pricing and much of its documentation lead with China and yuan, and its data residency in China rules it out for many US and EU enterprises. It also sells bare-metal compute to Chinese internet businesses on Kuaishou's video infrastructure. Crusoe builds data centers such as the Abilene, Texas campus behind Stargate, and adds managed LoRA fine-tuning, dedicated deployments with SLAs and GPU clusters on NVIDIA and AMD. StreamLake does not list customization. For a cheap subscription coding model, StreamLake fits; for open-weight control, Crusoe.

## What each one does

### Crusoe

Crusoe started in 2018 turning wasted natural gas into power for computing and has since become a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company: it sources energy, builds data centers and rents GPUs through Crusoe Cloud. It designed and built the Abilene, Texas campus behind the OpenAI and Oracle Stargate project, planned at 1.2 GW, and in March 2026 announced an adjacent 900 MW campus for Microsoft. On September 17, 2026 it closed the first part of a $3.9B Series F at a $30.9B post-money valuation, and it reports over 6 GW of contracted capacity. Crusoe Cloud lists GB200 NVL72, B200 and AMD MI355X by quote, with H100 at $3.90 and H200 at $4.29 per GPU-hour on demand.

### StreamLake

StreamLake is the AI cloud brand of Kuaishou, the Chinese short-video company behind the Kling video models. It sells model-as-a-service inference and bare-metal compute to internet businesses, drawing on the infrastructure Kuaishou built to serve video at massive scale. Its developer site offers APIs, SDKs and integration guides aimed at taking teams from testing to production.

## Which is best, and when

### Choose Crusoe for

- Open-weight models under your control
- Fine-tuning a coding model with LoRA
- Buyers who need US-built capacity

### Choose StreamLake for
