Crusoe vs Morph: key differences

Morph does one step of a coding agent very fast. A frontier or large open model writes only the changed lines with existing-code markers, and Morph's Fast Apply merges them into the full file at 10,500+ tokens per second with up to 98% accuracy. It uses a 7B model trained only on code merging, served on custom CUDA kernels with speculative decoding. Around it sit WarpGrep for repository search, Compact for context compression and Reflex for classification. Crusoe serves the general models that could do the reasoning, including DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi and gpt-oss, from $0.05 in and $0.20 out per million, with a cluster-wide KV cache that suits agents resending long repository context.

So the real question is whether to add Morph beside a main model, not whether to replace Crusoe. Morph cuts output tokens from the expensive model by avoiding full-file rewrites, and it avoids the whitespace failures of search-and-replace tool calls. Its 2 to 4% merge error rate means edits still need tests or linting. Crusoe brings what Morph does not: broad serverless serving, dedicated deployments with SLAs, managed LoRA fine-tuning and raw GPU clusters. Morph also offers fine-tuning and general chat endpoints, but its focus is the apply step. Coding-agent teams can reasonably run both.

What Crusoe and Morph do

Crusoe

Crusoe started in 2018 turning wasted natural gas into power for computing and has since become a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company: it sources energy, builds data centers and rents GPUs through Crusoe Cloud. It designed and built the Abilene, Texas campus behind the OpenAI and Oracle Stargate project, planned at 1.2 GW, and in March 2026 announced an adjacent 900 MW campus for Microsoft. On September 17, 2026 it closed the first part of a $3.9B Series F at a $30.9B post-money valuation, and it reports over 6 GW of contracted capacity. Crusoe Cloud lists GB200 NVL72, B200 and AMD MI355X by quote, with H100 at $3.90 and H200 at $4.29 per GPU-hour on demand.

Example models: DeepSeek V4 Pro, GLM 5.3, Kimi K2.6

Morph

Morph builds small, very fast specialist models that sit beside a big coding model inside an agent. Its flagship is Fast Apply. The frontier model writes only the changed lines with // ... existing code ... markers, and Morph merges them into the full file at 10,500+ tokens per second with up to 98% accuracy. It is the same idea behind Cursor's instant apply, offered as an OpenAI-compatible API.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Crusoe and Morph?

Morph is a specialist that merges coding-agent edits at 10,500+ tokens per second. Crusoe hosts the general open models that write those edits. They stack more than compete.

When should I choose Crusoe over Morph?

Hosting the main reasoning model for an agent; Long repository context with prefix reuse; Fine-tuning a general open model.

When should I choose Morph over Crusoe?

Applying edits to large files in milliseconds; Cutting expensive frontier output tokens; Fast repo search inside coding agents.

Is Crusoe or Morph cheaper?

Crusoe: $0.05–$1.74 in, $0.20–$4.40 out per 1M. Morph: ~40% fewer tokens than full rewrites. The cheaper choice depends on the model and workload.
