GMI Cloud vs Dolphin: key differences

GMI Cloud owns its NVIDIA hardware, serves 100+ text, image, video and audio models, and offers shared, autoscaling and reserved tiers on one OpenAI-compatible API. Dolphin's API launched in October 2026 with one model, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, at $0.01 in and $0.07 out per million tokens, served by gamers and other GPU owners who earn $POD tokens. It publishes no speed, context or SLA, and signup runs through a crypto wallet and Telegram.

GMI Cloud is the choice for predictable production capacity, multimodal work and in-region processing in Asia. Dolphin is cheaper per token on its one model and suits batch or background calls that tolerate variable latency, or products that need uncensored models.

What GMI Cloud and Dolphin do

GMI Cloud

GMI Cloud is a vertically integrated GPU cloud and inference platform that owns its NVIDIA hardware. It runs Tier-4 data centers in Silicon Valley, Colorado, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia, and as an NVIDIA Cloud Partner it gets priority access to H100, H200, B200 and GB200 supply, with GB300 on pre-order. In March 2026 it announced a 1GW sovereign AI factory in Kagoshima, Japan. The company pivoted from crypto mining into AI, which gave it experience standing up high-density power and cooling fast. In September 2026 it raised $668M: a $223M Series B led by ARCHIV with NVIDIA participating, plus a $445M credit facility led by CTBC. It reports over $600M in contracted ARR and about 4T tokens a week on its inference platform.

Dolphin

Dolphin began in 2023 as Eric Hartford's series of open-source, uncensored fine-tunes, trained to drop the refusals and baked-in guidelines of their base models so that the developer sets the rules through the system prompt. Current releases include Dolphin Llama 3.1 8B and Dolphin Mistral 24B Venice Edition, built with Venice, and the project publishes nearly 100 models on Hugging Face. It also runs a chat app, a Telegram bot and a synthetic data service that generates answers to commonly refused prompts.
